The read-only HTTP API serving shipdiff's own classified product-event stream across 25 tracked AI-native companies, with bearer-token auth, per-company coverage metadata, and retraction-aware event querying.
Software capabilities Company Directory & Coverage Company Directory Listing Lists covered companies with domain, display name, category, coverage dates, event counts, and the additive organization_id and structure_updated_at fields. Crawl Gap Transparency Represents a missed crawl day as a coverage gap rather than as a day of no shipped activity, so an absence of events is never presented as evidence a vendor was quiet. Domain Alias Resolution Resolves a company's known alternate domains, such as devin.ai to cognition.ai or claude.com to anthropic.com, to its canonical domain and reports the resolved domain in the query echo.
Event Query & Filtering Event Query Filtering Filters /v1/events by comma-separated company domains, observed_since/observed_until and shipped_since/shipped_until date windows, and origin (observed, backfilled, or all), defaulting to the last 30 days when no window is supplied. Event Result Paging Pages /v1/events results with limit (1-1000, default 100) and offset, keeping ordering stable across requests and rebuilds, and reports has_more. Ship vs Observed Date Model Carries two dates per event -- observed_at, when detection happened, and shipped_at, when the vendor shipped it if the source states a date on roughly 43% of events -- so a consumer can filter for staying current or for a specific ship-date period.
Authentication & Access Scoping Bearer Token Authentication Authenticates every request via an Authorization: Bearer token, storing tokens only as a hash so a lost token must be replaced rather than recovered. Token Domain Scoping Restricts a token to a subset of tracked companies, refusing requests for companies outside the token's scope instead of silently omitting them.
Event Data Model Event Data Model Defines the event object shape, including id, domain, product, type, area, title, summary, ship vs observed dates, confidence, evidence, payload and the additive organization-graph identifiers organization_id, unit_id, product_id and scope_id. Open Event Type Taxonomy Classifies each event into one of an open set of types, such as capability_added, capability_expanded, capability_removed, feature_added, feature_removed, feature_tier_change, price_change, limit_change, endpoint_added, new_integration, and model_release, with payload fields shaped to the type.
API Conventions & Error Handling Structured Error Responses Returns errors as the appropriate HTTP status (400/401/403/404/405) with a JSON error string, naming the nearest valid domain for an unknown one and refusing out-of-scope companies rather than silently omitting them.
Corrections & Retractions Event Retractions Marks a previously published event as wrong via an appended retraction carrying event_id, timestamp, and a consumer-facing reason, delivered alongside events in the same response window instead of editing or deleting the original.
