The Credit usage view in Workspace Analytics adds a Sessions breakdown, showing credit usage broken out by individual generative session alongside the existing Total and Workspace views.
Default generation names can be set per project or session
A default generation naming template can now be set for a single project or for just the current session, in addition to the existing workspace and organization levels, with the most specific template winning and a new Project name variable available.
Runway Dev adds Wan 3.0 for text-to-video and image-to-video with native audio
Wan 3.0 (wan3) is available on Runway Dev, generating up to 30 seconds of video with native audio from a text prompt or a start-frame image, at 480p, 720p or 1080p, billed at 5, 10 and 20 credits per second respectively. It accepts up to 10 image, 5 video and 5 audio references, or first and last keyframes, which cannot be mixed with references. Corroborated by the OpenAPI spec, which adds a wan3 schema and enum value to the text_to_video and image_to_video endpoints. Distinct from the 2026-08-24 arrival of Wan 3.0 in the Runway creative product.
Runway adds org config alerts for missing SSO enforcement and low-credit email
Org admins now see alerts in org settings when a workspace is missing SSO enforcement or has no low-credit email, each linking to the setting that fixes it.
Runway ships SDR-to-HDR conversion and professional output formats
Runway's docs added Professional and HDR output formats and an SDR to HDR section: editorial containers (ProRes, image sequences), 10-bit SDR, and HDR / high bit-depth output for Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0, with SDR-to-HDR available in the API and its own pricing. The pricing page gained matching Unlimited-plan bullets for studio-grade formats (ProRes, image sequences) and HDR generations up to 16 bit, and the derived API state added POST /v1/video_to_hdr. No changelog entry announces it.

Tool Mode and Edit Studio export Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2 generations as ProRes 4444 with PCM audio or as a PNG sequence, instead of only compressed MP4.

Runway API returns per-task credit cost
API responses carry the credit cost of each task, as a running estimate while it executes and as a final cost on completion, so platforms can meter and display per-generation pricing.
Runway API adds Eleven v3 text-to-speech model
Eleven v3 (eleven_v3) is now available via the Runway API's text-to-speech endpoint, generating expressive speech with audio tags such as [laughs] and [whispers] using Runway's preset voices. Billed at 1 credit per 50 characters, 1 credit minimum.

Runway API adds Model Router for automatic model selection
Runway API introduces Model Router: a named, reusable configuration (with a stable config ID) that routes each generation request to the best eligible model instead of a hardcoded model. Configs support an allow/deny list of eligible models, an optimization preference (cost, latency, or quality), and an optional maximum-credits-per-generation ceiling; requests that no eligible model can satisfy fail with an explicit "no eligible model" error. Responses report the model used, config ID, preference applied, and realized cost, and a dryRun flag previews routing decisions without generating or billing.
